The Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department, with 25 members, is one of the largest departments in Hillsdale County. The Jonesville Department prides itself in protecting and serving the community. The duties of the Jonesville Fire Department are to respond to any fire, structural and wild land. The department
is equipped with the Jaws of Life, and responds to all accidents. The department will
also respond to good intent calls such as animal rescues. The department also responds to odor investigations, carbon monoxide, gas, electrical down wires, and transformer problems.
Community education activities include:
- Fire safety at Jonesville Elementary School
- Career day at Jonesville Middle School
- Mock prom drunk driving accident at Jonesville High School
Storm Siren testing is the first Monday of each month, April to October.
The severe weather siren tones are:
- Watch - 30 second steady tone
- Warning - 3 minute up and down
